Since her untimely death, I have rekindled my teenage awe of Sinead O’Connor’s music, and have been absorbing the beauty of her tunes almost daily.
I remember being mesmerized by her rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U, as I noted many contradictions that intrigued me. It was refreshing to admire someone who had their own take on style and substance. I felt I could relate to some of her difference and her voice inspired me to continue looking for my own space.
These are my other favourite songs of Sinead O’Connor:
Just Like U Said It Would
Jerusalem
Jackie
He Moved Through the Fair
Last Day of Our Acquaintance
Troy
Three Babies
Thank you for Hearing Me
You Made Me the Thief of Your Heart
Drink Before the War.
Do you have other favourite tunes by Sinead O’Connor you particularly enjoy listening to?
Thank you, Troy: particularly appreciated as you are the first reader to comment, and this makes it even more of a very special moment.
I have now discovered, and added Red Football to my favourite list, thank you!
Very touching - I liked "All Babies" and "Red Football" from Universal Mother. 💔
