Wow. This one hit me with such a tension of opposites. Lullabies and barricades. Blossoms and explosions. 💛

I don’t know the source memory or inspiration for this poem but I felt like a memory of someone you loved.

The tension of opposites you noticed earlier on and the love are both spot on; I was inspired by the relentless human suffering we see far too much of, and my hope that connectedness and humanity can still prevail.💛

Wonderful words, Mya.

I like the juxtapositions of seemingly disparate things — very engaging. :)

Hey! Take a break, people. Rest, nap. Feel good. Make it an essential. I turned 84 yesterday. And, I wish you all "take a break" times in your busy lives.

Go at your own pace, Mya. Whatever works for you. (You aren't alone. I'm having to rethink issues of free time at the moment a bit, too.)

All amazing.

I’ve been away for a couple of weeks on two amazing tiny tropical islands in the Indian Ocean. Slowly catching up with Substack. It makes me appreciate just how many amazing people I do follow, and how much time I spend here. We only have 24 hours in each day and we must choose what we do with that time wisely. Take care dear Mya. Sending heaps of hugs and best wishes.

Very wise indeed, Beth, and generous as always, thank you so much. Your recent holiday sounds amazing, I am so glad you took the time needed to savour it. Lovely to have you back, and lots of hugs and my very best to you too, Beth.💛

I note with interest, Mya, that quite a few friends here are stepping back a bit, myself included. Reasons, when given, often suggest burnout or expectations not met. I think this is worthy of a deeper dig, perhaps a few of us together. Hence my new topic planned for 29th May... (gives me time to think a bit more). Have a virtual hug, Maurice

I had noticed this too, and perhaps as I find it quite time-consuming to continue with the memoir side of writing, I thought stepping back to posting less often might help me reconnect with it. Looking forward to your thoughts and new topic on 29th May. Hug received and reciprocated!
