Thank you, Michael! It feels as though I warm up through writing each haiku, and reach the best one by the end. I have wondered about keeping the "warm up" ones for myself as draft to rework, and only publishing the one I love the most; I shall revisit and ponder some more!
That’s very interesting, I feel a similar way sometimes about pieces I write, as I often feel like I don’t really get into my grove until the second or third paragraph...
But as far as your haikus are concerned I do wonder if the earlier, “warm up” haikus as you called them, actually add to the power/punch of the latter ones...
That's a great point; I wonder if part of it is our own awareness of the point at which our own writing captures what we hoped, and perhaps as with art, knowing when to stop or start is a delicate space to pinpoint. I never feel the warm up in your work either, it engages promptly! I guess that's one of the beauty of sharing comments, watching the same experience from a different stance. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, Michael, much appreciated!
OMG I was just thinking about your haikus this morning on my power walk! ❤️🔮🪄
Thank you, Troy! That's probably the nearest thing to my achieving an exercise routine, by long-distance proxy... power naps on the other hand...😊 💜😸
haha oh dear, we're going to be so ripped - any day now... 😘
So beautiful 😍
Thank you so much!
You’re so welcome 💕
Lovely haikus, Mya.
I have to echo, Nathan’s comment — I loved the last two lines of the last one. Beautiful :)

Either way, Mya, I like your haikus :)

Your point is excellent as well, Mya — the awareness of when our writing captures what we’d hoped — I love that!
Yes, it is nice to have compadres to share notes with in this writing thing.
Thanks Mya :)
...enough to harpoon my heart / flaying acid rain
I LOVE those two lines together, Mya.
Thank you so much, Nathan, my favourite lines too!
Thank you, Nadia, much appreciated!
